But today, I wanted to highlight a more recent event, the engagement of one of my closest friends and former roommates.
Lauren and Zach got engaged on September 1st.
I've known Lauren for a long time. Our friendship goes back to our Texas days. I can only thank God for brining us back together during college and allowing her to be in my life in a daily basis. I have learned so much from her and really look up to her in many ways. But we also have a lot of fun together. I miss having her just footsteps away. I took for granted how easy it was to walk to her room and talk and laugh and get advice from her.
We lived together the year that she liked Zach and because of that I was able to witness the beginning of their relationship. It really is such an exciting time for anyone to witness or personally experience.
It was also fun to plot with Zach and the rest of my roommates for when he was going to ask her to be his girlfriend. She had no idea and we hid in her room so watch. Oh the fun we had ;)
Anyways, I was very encouraged when she called me, told me she was engaged, sent me pics of the ring and then asked me to be a bridesmaid and take their engagement pictures. We had a great afternoon taking pictures by the river, the very place that Zach asked her to be his wife. It was probably the easiest engagement shoot I've ever done. Thanks for being so easy for me to photograph, working with me on my crazy ideas and for letting me be a part of such a magical time in your life. I actually got my bridesmaids dress in today and it fits perfectly...but more on that later :) Only 116 days until the wedding!!!
