I read this quote recently that says: "The worth of a book is to be measured by what you can carry away from it."
This is so true.
I LOVE reading!!!
One of my goals this winter break was to read a couple of books that I haven't had time to read. But I was realistic and only brought two books home with me cause normally I over pack with books and never get to read all of them.
Not this year.
I read both books in like three days and then had nothing else to read.
Now by that time, my sister had gotten here and we busied ourselves with puzzles and family events so it wasn't that big of a deal. But I wish I had brought more because I have so many books that I haven't read.
Anyways, I finally finished reading Bossypants by Tina Fey. If you haven't read it yet. Go get it. Right now. It is hysterical. Seriously. Like I actually laughed out loud and felt like an idiot. The other book I read was the second of the Friday Night Knitting Club, not the best writing but I'm attached to the characters and yesterday I found the third book and a second hand book store.
Other books I own but haven't had time to read:
- The Shack
- The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
- Mansfield Park
- Jane Eyre
(and many more that I can't remember at the moment)
What books are on your list to read?
(suggestions are always welcome)
One last thought: If you haven't read The Hunger Games series, go read it. Right now. Stop what you're doing, go buy the book from the local book store and cancel all appointments for the next two days cause you'll be busy reading :)
Ciao!
(the picture is me on my new iPhone 4, that I paid for myself, with the pretty glittery gold Jcrew case!)
