Big Hearts Pageant

As promised, I'm finally going to share with you about the Big Hearts Pageant that I helped coordinate last weekend.
Its a pageant that shows off what these developmentally disabled kids CAN do instead of focusing on what they can't.
It makes you laugh, cry and just about every other emotion.
These kids have really stolen my heart.
I just love being around them.
They remind me of Jesus' pure love and his sacrifice in my life.
They help me feel close to God.
I love their innocence and child like hearts.
Our goal for the pageant was to sell 1,000 tickets and raise $30,000.
God definitely worked with this and exceeded our expectations.
We sold almost 1,300 tickets and raised over $35,000.
Thanks to everyone who came, volunteered, donated or gave in anyway to these kids!
We had some Athens celebrities come escort the kids which definitely made them feel special
It was such a great event for them.
Just to see them light up on stage and be that happy is a victory in itself.
Because I was running around like a mad person trying to make sure everything was running smoothly, I didn't have an opportunity to take many pictures.
But I will send you to where you can find them, cause they are amazing!
Stylized Portraiture took most of the photos for us.
And we are very grateful for their help and flexibility!
Also, here's a few news articles about the event.
And the Fox news broadcast from before the event.
And, another place to see some photos
Wow, just looking through some of these photos makes me cry!
