Wedding Wednesday: Tailgate Shower

First things first (or should I say last things)...
Today is my last day at work at the Office of Special Events @ UGA.
Its so strange (THIS IS CRAZY!)
I have been working at this office since my very first day in college.
It has been such a staple in my life for the past four years.
And now its over...
Its kind of bittersweet.
I'm looking forward to moving on but its going to be sad/weird to leave.
Thankfully, we're having our student party on monday so its not over yet.
Its just one step closer to graduation and the next stage in my life which is so exciting,
and yet all these last things make me a little sad and nostalgic.

Ok on to normal business...
Today I'm sharing with you all the details from Kevin & Deanna's Jack & Jill Tailgate wedding shower.
(wow, thats a mouthful)

The Invitations:
I made the invitations myself using indesign and got them printed at Kinko's.
They were simple but appropriate for the occasion and definitely helped with our costs!
The Decor:
We kept the decor simple.
We used blue table cloths & red paper products.
The main attracted was the pennant with their names on it.
I already shared the DIY project we made but here is the final product:

the front table after all the guests arrived
We wanted there to be pictures of them displayed in different areas but it failed :(

The Food:
We wanted to provide food that went along with the tailgate theme so we made sliders & pigs in a blanket, chips, veggie & fruit trays and cupcakes.
We also had sweet tea and lemonade from Publix.

on the left: chocolate cupcakes with cinnamon buttercream frosting; on the right: blueberry cupcakes with maple brown butter frosting (Deanna's favorite!)

believe it or not, this was not stage for someone to grab the water pitcher

the boys making our sliders! so grateful for their help!

The Fun & Games:
Part of why we wanted to have a tailgate themed shower was because we wanted the boys to have some fun and actually having something to do.
Girls are used to showers and love just to sit around and chat but boys normally need to be entertained.
So, we set up cornhole and ladder ball for them to play.
We also had the married couples play a game to test how well they knew each other.
It was very funny to watch.
Throughout the shower, we had stickers on everyone's back with a word on it that they had to ask yes or no questions to guess what the word was (baseball terms for the boys and wedding terms for the girls)

The People:
