Saturday: Southeast Campus Retreat at Lake Tugaloo
After the game, we drove back to Athens and woke up early on Saturday morning to drive to Lake Tugaloo State Park. We met up with 13 other campus ministries from around the Southeast for a camping trip. It was the most chill retreat I've ever been to and it was so relaxing and rejuvenating. We had a singing devo, free time where we played field games and lots of fellowship time with people from other cities. It was great to be able to see old friends and catch up. I was able to spend a lot of time with close friends, hanging out and talking on the beach. We had multiple bonfires and our ministry spent a lot of bonding time together eating and playing cornhole. It was a really encouraging weekend and I'm so grateful we had the time away from life to reconnect to God and each other. Saturday night, our ministry met up with the Nashville ministry on the beach for a bonfire, smores and singing devotional. It was seriously the best singing devotional I've ever been to.
Sunday: End of retreat; Andrew's birthday dinner
Because we were sleeping in a tent, on the ground (I mean that is what you do when you go camping), I didn't sleep well. I ended up getting up around 6:30 and going for a prayer walk on the beach. I wanted to watch the sunrise but it was hidden behind the clouds. I'm so grateful to have been out in nature and really feel like I was in the presence of God. It was also really fun to just wake up and have breakfast with my whole ministry. We just sat around the fire, drinking coffee and talking. I'm so grateful for how close our ministry has gotten in the past year. For church, we went to a different beach and Angel from Atlanta preached from a boat in the water. It was a very powerful message and a great time to spend with my brothers and sisters.
Sunday night, a group of us went to The Royal Peasant for Andrew's birthday dinner. Its a English Pub here in Athens and got me in the mood to go to London :)
I know I've said this a lot but I am just so grateful for all the time I got to spend with my friends this weekend. It was a great last campus retreat.
